Rock Chip & Crack Repair
This is window and door glass, not vehicle glass. If you're looking for a windshield chip repair, that's a different trade entirely, we don't touch auto glass. What we do repair is a chip or a short crack in an architectural pane, the kind that shows up in a window, a glass door, or a storefront panel.
Caught early, a chip smaller than a quarter or a crack shorter than a dollar bill usually gets stopped in place rather than replaced. Left alone, that same chip keeps working its way across the pane with heat and pressure changes until repair is off the table and replacement is the only option left.
What to expect
How This Job Usually Goes
We look at the chip or crack
Size, depth, and how close it is to the edge of the pane all factor into whether it's still repairable.
The damage gets stabilized
A resin fill stops the chip or crack from spreading further under everyday heat and pressure changes.
We tell you straight if it's past repair
If the crack already reached the edge or crossed too much of the pane, we'll say so rather than repair something that won't hold.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you repair windshield chips?
No. This service is for window, door, and storefront glass. Windshield and vehicle glass is a separate trade and we don't work on it.
How do I know if a chip is still repairable?
A chip smaller than a quarter, or a crack shorter than a dollar bill and out of your line of sight, is usually still repairable. Once it reaches the edge of the pane or keeps spreading, replacement is the more reliable fix.
Will a repaired chip be invisible afterward?
The resin fill stops the damage from spreading and holds the glass together, but a faint mark where the chip was is usually still visible up close. It won't match a brand new pane, it will stop the problem from getting worse.
